Gai’ Animas is one of our new grant programs for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking that will expand emergency and short-term housing for victims fleeing violence. “Gai’ Animas” is a Chamorro phrase which means to “have courage.”
This program is a Domestic Violence Bonus Allocation under the Continuum of Care Grant awarded to the Guam Homeless Coalition (GHC). The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority (GHURA) is the collaborative partner with GHC. The grant will also establish a coordinated entry system to improve efficiency of response to victims. Gai’ Animas will be a joint collaboration with Victim Advocates Reaching Out (VARO), Guma Mami Inc., Sanctuary Inc., The Salvation Army, and Mane’lu (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters).
